As a sequel to the National Youth Day we organized a Youth Convention on 22 January 2017 at its main premises at Bistupur, Jamshedpur.
Prior to this Convention, in-house cultural competitions on the life and message of Swami Vivekananda were conducted in many educational institutions in Jamshedpur. 1047 Students from 24 educational institutions participated in the Recitation Competition on Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts on “Manliness and Patriotism” and in the Essay Competition on the subjects “Faith and Strength”, “Man the Maker of his Destiny” and “India: Our Motherland”.
Among all the participants, the first three rank holders in each competition from each school were awarded prizes. Total 180 students were awarded prizes which comprised books on Swami Vivekananda.
Around 1500 people including students, teachers of many educational institutions of Jamshedpur and guardians participated in the programme.
Students from various institutions performed the following events during the the programme: (1) Vedic Chanting, (2) Songs, (4) Yogasana, (5) Recitations of Swami Vivekananda’s poem in English, Hindi and Bengali, (6) Speeches, (8) Dance Tribute to Swami Vivekananda, etc.
